Rugeley to Colwich Resignalling Scheme

True North Rail Ltd have just completed the signal sighting committee phase for the Rugeley - Colwich Resignalling scheme. This is probably the most challenging section of railway, from a signal sighting perspective, in the whole of the UK due to the high speed (up to 125mph) and significantly curved track alignment. We’re really proud to have successfully sighted all 59 signals in just two committee meetings. Our new state of the art tools were also instrumental in mitigating the requirement for several gantry banner repeater signals, saving the project a significant amount of money, and simplifying the commissioning.

Darren Young - Senior Project Manager;
"On a complex piece of railway where signal sighting was difficult to achieve True North provided us with the clarity and clear way forward with all of our key stakeholders. True North delivered on time with a quality product and managed the whole process with an extremely high level of professionalism throughout."
Birmingham New St. Area Resignalling Phase 7

True North Rail Ltd recently helped the Birmingham New St. Area Resignalling Phase 7 Project with their requirements for driver in-cab vision plots. We have been able to determine the limits of train detection sections within the station area where the layout has proved it difficult to achieve an axle counter failure reset with a single sweep of a train. This will allow the recovery from a failure of an axle counter section to be much quicker in a very busy station. Here are a few examples.

Lorraine Warner - Senior Project Engineer;
"Professional and helpful support from True North Rail to achieve what was needed. Thank you."
