Take a Peak at our Crewe Bashford Hall & Independent Lines Driver Route learning Project 👀

The team at True North Rail using their Truesight™ platform worked in conjunction with Freightliner, Network Rail & Pennant in order to produce virtual reality (VR) training videos of a train drivers journey via various Crewe driving routes. The creation of our Truesight™ VR videos & 3D training animations were then used for virtual route driver training courses enabling train drivers to rapidly learn their driving routes.

Since its inception in 1837, Crewe has evolved into a central UK rail hub, linking multiple lines and facilitating efficient freight movement. You can find out more about Crewe & The Independent Lines by reading a really great article written by Paul Darlington in Rail Engineer by going to: https://www.railengineer.co.uk/crewe-basford-hall-and-independent-lines-resignalling/

Our platform route creation tools enabled us to quickly create sequential events such as speed changes, signal aspect changes and activate which crossovers to take. These routes were then exported and shared with the wider project team, who were able to play, review & provide feedback progressively.

Testimonials

“It’s been great working on it and been a great team. Hopefully the map book will complement the route PowerPoint and the amazing True North Rail CGI runs of the routes.”

Chris Hewitt AIRO, Production Manager (Driver Manager) Freightliner Group Ltd Crewe

"A great project to work on with professional colleagues and friends. The industry needs more projects like this where a common theme is to do the right thing for the benefit of the whole industry. A special thanks to our friends at True North Rail.”

Alastair Culff, Director A.C.R.O.S.S Ltd
